Overclocking a Duron 950?

Well, I'm waiting for my new CPU and RAM to come in, so I'm experimenting a little with this Duron 950 I have. It's in an A7N8X Deluxe, with 256MB PC2100, and a Volcano 6cu+.

I upped the FSB to 110Mhz in the bios, and everything seems to run fine. At just under 100Mhz over stock speed. I havn't messed with the voltage yet, and temp at full load is 45 C. What should I watch out for as to not burn it up? How much could I get out of it? Should I bump the vcore and o/c it more? I have a Spitfire core on my Duron.

you should be able to get to atleast 1.1ghz maybe as much as 1.3
don't be afraid to up the voltage if you need to
those things like high voltages (I wouldn't go over 1.95 to 2v tho)

good luck

I could bump it up to 9.5x110 using default vcore and it was prime stable for 5 hours. I raised the vcore .1 to 1.7, and upped the FSB to 120. This booted up fine, temperature was 45C idle, 49C full load. This failed prime in 9minutes the first time I ran it though, I tried it again and it failed in under a second! I ram it again, it failed in 4 this time. Maybe I need to mess with the RAM timmings? (The multiplier seems locked)

Hah, it looks as if you've found out how high your 950 won't go.🙂 Now try 115mhz fsb, and see if it's Prime stable. It's definitely not your ram timings, because you are underclocking your ram until you get up to a 133 fsb.
