Overclocking a Duron 650...it's unlocked, but no POST.

I've read OCing guides, have my Thunderbird 1G AXIA OC'd to 1300 easy. However when I change the multiplier of my Duron, I get no POST. The L1 bridges are unlocked, what am I missing?

I agree, make sure all 4 bridges are properly connected, you may have to erase and re-pencil the bridges (if you used the pencil trick)...

Wht do u do exact like the settings u r trying to set, vcore adjustment & etc? Its not a poor unlocking job as I see it coz ur PC should still POST even w/ a poor unlocking job...u just can't change the multiplier.

In my experience with unlocking processors, if ANY of the L1 bridges are touching, the computer won't even post. Erase all the bridges, then check for post. If it does, then the unlock job is the problem.

Well, the problem is it was unlocked from the Factory. I change the multiplier to anything other than factory setting and it won't post. Thought "hell it really isn't unlocked so I made sure it was with a conductive pen. Same results. 🙁 (I am only speaking of the L1 bridges...they are definately connected).

System spec please.

Asus K7V133 Board REV 1.05, Latest BIOS
Dual 15 GB IBM Desktars RAID 0
512 MB Crucial PC133
1gHz AXIA T-Bird, OC 1288
Voodoo5

The Duron 650 will not POST in either the Asus nor a Shuttle Ak11 if I change the multiplier from default settings.

I used a magnifying glass...if they were crossed it wouldn't post at default tho, right? It runs fine at default, but not when multiplier is changed.

Anyway...it sounds like there's nothing I didn't know about, no soldering I need to do or some raindance, etc. I'll doublecheck the bridges, thanks guys.

No. 🙁 I've given up. Such a pain to install and remove a thousand time. I may try again later this week. If I figure her out I'll definately post results. Thanks!

I have a Duron 700 that I unlocked myself. L1's for Multiplier and L7's for 1.85 default voltage.
I used conductive ink and Scotch Tape. It took several tries but I finally got the hang of it.

I am running it on a Shuttle AK31A (rev 3.1) at 7.5x133 = 998 with no problems. I have run it at 6.5x and 7x as well.
