Overclocking a 9700 pro

What is the average overclock of the 9700 pro? Any ways I can get it to be a 9800 pro speed at 370/340? I can't tell what memory chip I have since it has ramsinks over them. How far you got your 9700 to?

If it is a reputable brand 9700pro, it has 2.8ns ram. You should be able to get in the 'hood of 380mhz core(some as high as 400), and 340-355mhz ram. Overclocked to the hilt a 9700pro should outperform a non-overclocked 9800pro. That wouldn't really be comparing apples to apples, but I think it answers your question.

well you really cannot compare the two (9800/9700) together they are different at the GPU level, esp when you consider high AA/AF settings that the 9800 is built to do...

As far as OC the 9700pro (mine is a Gigabyte) gets hella-hot, mine crashes due to heat without any overclocking needed, then again my house dont have air so go figure 😀

The 9800 RV350 has tweaked HDL programming for better AA/AF performance. Stated on this site to be 20% better in AA/AF settings then the 9700 RV300 core.

All though, I think the 9700 pro has a much better performance increase when over clocked other then a overclocked 9800 non-pro. So it seems to me and few others who tried to over clock the 9800 non-pro.
