I'm new to overclocking, so I have a few questions...
I just installed a new eVGA 7600GT, running at stock 560 core/700 memory. I have Coolbits and clicked on "Find Optimal' under the overclocking configuration. It found 584/756, which seems to be a pretty mild increase to me. I want to be able to go higher without installing a new GPU cooler.
Right now at stock, the GPU idles at 47 C, and maybe 53-55 C under load. How are these temps, and what's considered a "safe" temperature for an overclocked card?
The "slowdown threshold" for the card is 130 C. Is this a typo, or can the card actually go that high without melting? I'd like to lower the threshold, but there doesn't seem to be a way to change it.
edit: also, what's the best way to test stability?
Thanks
