I'm new to this overclocking world, so how would I go about doing this? I changed the settings report it as a 466 in the BIOS but it wouldn't boot up after that. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

you have one of the worst chips to overclock. do you have fsb increments in your bios? if yes try 75 mhz fsb for 525 mhz. if not you are screwed.

I presently have a Celeron 400 o'clocked to 500 MHZ using the 83 Mhz front side bus setting, on an Abit ZM6 (which is identical to the BM6, except for the minor differences in the chipset). Both the BM6 and ZM6 have the same FSB settings via the BIOS, which are : 66, 75, 83, 100, 103, 105, 112, 124, 133(1/3 pci divider), and 133(1/4 pci divider). You should be able to bring up your 433 celeron to 490 Mhz (500) no problem using the 75 Mhz FSB setting. You might have to increase voltage, but you shouldn't need to. If that works, then try 83 Mhz FSB (for a total 540 Mhz). Or, you can go out and buy a cheap 566 Celeron II which has a very good chance of running at 850Mhz, using the 100 Mhz FSB.

yeah, get the 566. I've got one on my BM6 and it runs @ 850 with no problems. Also make sure your peripherals can run out of spec (i.e. not at 66 or 100 mhz). I could probably run faster thank 850 but my hard drive doesn't like running out of spec.

Okay figure I'd post the results... I am currently running with the 83MHz fsb for 542 MHZ. I find that my settings get reverted back to normal after I reboot. I downloaded and installed this program http://web.bham.ac.uk/jst829/mbprobe/
It tells my my cpu / mobo temp is 47-48° C

Any help/tips are greatly appreciated

Go in your BIOS at startup, enter the CPU Softmenu item, and DISABLE ''Speed error hold''. When this option is set to ENABLE, your BIOS automatically resets your CPU speed to its stock settings. When DISABLED, your BIOS will load the desired speed settings all the time. In CPU Softmenu, you can also tweak your voltage for overall system stability when overclocked, if needed.

Thanks, steverama, I did that since I figured it might be the problem and has been working fine since. Thanks again :)

47 is high, i wouldn't go any higher.
be careful after that temp.
well technically the chips can take more but it's still alot of heat and COULD cause stability problems.
