Overclocking 920D w/ BT

Just got P5WD2-P .. Brought 920 last week or so but it won't overclock above 243FSB on P5LD2. So i decided to go w/ p5wd2-p and now it's dual priming @ 300FSB 4.2GHz at 1.5v. The temp is around 57Load/40Idle. The package date of the cpu is 12/30/05.

1.5v is pretty high (assuming that the default vcore is 1.25). A 20% overvolt will probably slice off (on average, of course) around 40-45% of your CPU's life.

EDIT: Also, what cooling are you using? Your temps seem remarkably low.

Be careful with that voltage. I was running at 3.7ghz 1.475v..then one of my cores disappeared from windows and BIOS. For some strange reason now, which it wasn't doing before, if I disable HT in the bios, it turns off the second core. And with the HT enabled, and the second core back on..windows won't boot, safe mode locks up, and windows insall locks up.

thx for the suggestion guys, as i was just searchin what's the max vcore i should go. I probably drop vcore a bit and run at 4ghz instead.

Well the datasheet says 1.55v, and I'm not entirely sure the voltage is what killed one of my cores..but I'd hate to see the same thing happen to somebody else.

hey congrats, yea I was stuck in the 240s on p5ld2 also. P5wd2-p opened it up a bit. I would heed to the advice given about the volts though, as 1.5 is pretty rough on the chip I would imagine. I dropped mine down to 287fsb so I could run 1.38v for day to day use.
