Overclocking 8800GS. wow?

Using Ati Tool

Default with this card is 700mhz. and somehow at 980 its still not finding any artifacts.

anyone want to share their o/c exp with 8800gs?

this is the lower version from new egg.

Anyone know if Accelero S2 fits 8800gs?

EDIT.damn my big mouth... looks like the ceiling is around 990mhz.

maybe It will run better with ram sinks? meh not critical.

got the XFX one.

from other forums it seems like 750/1000 is possible and maybe upper limit.

right now it seems the max with stock cooler is 715/990 for me
(default is 580/700)



But this is with antec 350w and stock cooler 🙂 ill move to earthpower and better mobo
later on and try there.

nothin like the feel of a goood overclock 😀 now the $$ i spent on upgrade is less damaging 🙂

I guess the S2 fits, since the 8800 GS has the same layout of 8800 GT,GTS.

yeah, i got in on the alpha dog xfx deal (125AR + flash drive)
made sure it was 1.4ns ram, installed a vf900cu

atitool was at 736core/960 mem for a while
i did a bunch of testing at 720/940 and it's very stable with no artifacting
i'll push it a bit more when i have some time

You could get one and try it. Then let us know. Seriously, you may have trouble clearing the stiffener bar at the top. Other than that it looks to fit since there is plenty of room around the GPU.

I got mine to 720/1730/820 stable in ATITool for 20 minutes +. I can play COD4 and pass 3DMark06 beyond that memory clock but won't pass ATITool. The core is pretty much hitting a wall at 720.

What time are you guys using in ATITool as "PASS" criteria?

OP skillyho tried the S2 and it's a no-go. User reviews at the Egg say the S1Rev2 DOES work. Forum posts at techpowerup say that the Zalmans, both 700 and 900, work as well.

I'm still waiting on someone to try the TT DuOrb - $33ish AR @ the Egg.
