Overclocking 3000+ with Neo2 Platinum

I'm trying to overclock a 3000+ Venice on a Neo2 Platinum but am having some trouble. I got it to boot at 240x9=2160MHz and it reaches 56-58 degrees during Prime95 on a stock cooler and idles at about 40-42. The voltage is at 1.4, HTT is at 3x and RAM I THINK is locked at ddr400 (at least it says so in the bios but doesn't say so in CPUz) and at SPD timings.

If I try to boot at 250x9 it gives a BSOD. If I change to 250x9 with clockgen it restarts after a bit. Should I up the voltage and try?

My PSU is a OCZ Powerstream 420 watt by the way.

Thanks for any help.

Meh, sounds strangely familiar. Temps i mean.

The Neo2 is known for incorrectly reporting temps, something that i find annoying with mine.
As long as your HSF is seated properly, don't worry about it.

You need to lower your RAM divider. Set it to 100 or 133 for now, till you find your max HTT & CPU speed.

For vcore, you can just set it to 1.4V + 8.3% safely, since the mobo usually undervolts.
Then once your RAM is out of the question, i'm sure you'll be able to get higher.

Oh, to unlock the advanced settings in the Cell menu in the bios, hit Shift + F2 then Alt+ F3.

Also, don't use ClockGen.
Use the bios.

Meh, it depends what you call the latest bios.

There are a ton of bioses available for the Neo2.

I use 1.8, since my floppy isn't working (so i haven't been able to flash it to the newer mod ones).

I think a bunch of them supposedly fix temp issues.

If you're worried, you should try reseating the heatsink.

Also, how 'bout an update?
How goes teh OCing?
