overclocking 24/7 yes or no

I over clockgreat at higher fsb but should i leave it overclocked or only overclock when im doing something high stressed such as gaming or video editing?

I leave mine oc'd and on 24/7 with restarts for software only...I think restarts are hard so in case every time you want to run faster you need to bootinto the bios to change it I wouldn't do it....If it is truly stable you should be fine...use sort of recommended or what has worked well vcore settings and you should be fine....

With an intel p4 system...northwood don't go over 1.7v actual at idle....ddr ram don't go over 2.8v max....use agp/pci lock to avoid any stress on pci and agp cards, as well as drives...

With amds I don't know the recommend safe range on xps, tbreds and the new bartons, but I hear 1.85v alot as a good stopping point...soulkeeper likes 2v but he burns them like I burn toast in the new toaster...

for a P4 system that is good 🙂
and ram that is a given.
on a t-bred system the .13 t-breds (barton included) 2v is THE max you can run thru it safely.....myself i am at 1.95v and will not go higher !

24/7 for me too. The main rig in my system has been running in it's OCed configuration since last October.

Since in mine everything works fine all the time 24/7. However, don't exceed prefered voltages...

Some motherboards have settings where you can just press "turbo" and it will jump to your pre-set overclocked speed. I love this feature! I know the MSI KT4 Ultra does, along with some others...

dont jack up voltage insanely high and it will be aite

...cant say the same about elec bill though lol...make sure you turn monitor to turn off after like 30min of inactivity or wahtever...they use lotsa power

24/7, 100% load all the time, been running for the past 4 years like this (Celeron 366@458, 2.2V (instead of 2)). Works fine. Guess it will be the same for newer systems too.
