Overclocking 1ghz Athlon T-bird on Asus A7V133 without unlocking?

Hey i would like to know if there is a way to overclock my 1ghz chip on the Asus A7V133 without unlocking the chip with the pencil trick.

when i go into the bios i see both the Multiplier and the frequency are locked and so i cannot change them. if i unlock the cpu will these menus get activated? or the jumper setting that i have no in Jumperless mode?

i would like to change my frequency to 133mhz. and then overclock my chip.

thanks

You can only o/c by the fsb....if the chips is not unlocked because you will not be able to change the multiplier....

your multiplier is 10x....you can change the fsb from 100 and up....depending on the chip I would try first 120=1200...if it is a good chip you maybe able to reach 133=1330

Well you see when i go into the BIOS i see BOTH the Multiplier and the Frequency clock menu deselected. so i cannot change either of the settings.

so thats my question why cannot i see the at least the frequency setting selected. if i cant they do i have to see the jumpers on the motherboard to set the frequency?

In the BIOS you need to set the frequency setting to Manual instead of auto or default. That will lrt you adjust the FSB. I would not try 133 right off the bat. I have a 1GHz as well and the fastest I can get is 113X100=1130 and that is not completely stable. 1100 is rock solid with a Super Orb cooler. Good luck.

In Asus board your saying you can not get the cpu speed to go from standard to user defined..it is the first option on the bios..hit enter...you should get 2 options...standard or user defined....

Then you should be able to ajust the fsb bus by hitting enter...and changing the fsb...

Also do not forgot to adjust the voltage(Vcore)...I would reset it to 1.85v then if everything is ok...try lowering it.

Does this help?
