i have a 1 gig t-bird with FOP 38 and artic silver thermal stuff...

abit kt7a raid..

I heard that the only difference between the 1 gig tbird and 1.2 gig tbird is the multiplier...
So, if i unlock the processor and just change the multiplier to 12 (12x100fsb) will that work?
I am thinking there is some sort of catch...anyway all advice would help. Thank you.

Difference: there is no guarantee your 1 gig will run at 1200mhz, whereas the 1200mhz one is designed to be. The 1 gig has to be overclocked, which is not AMD supported.

It /may/ work. Nothing's guaranteed with Overclocking. You can help with better cooling(i.e. more fans or lapping your heatsink), but it's pretty much all luck. Instead of raising the mulitplier, I'd lower it, and boost up your fsb to 133mhz+.

I agree with sad. running a kt133a mobo at 100mhz fsb is a horrible waste and should not be tolerated.

j/k,

yeah, see how high you can get your fsb with the 10 multiplier then experiment with lower multipliers and insane fsb speeds.

good luck
