I decided to finally OC my 2.4, cause i heard ya could get great speeds out of stock cooling (around 3.0ghz)... now i can't get my cpu clock over 214 (normally at 200). even when i put my votage way up, it still does the same thing - reboots to a black, blank screen :(

my specs are:

::mobo:: GB-8IPE1000
::CPU:: P4 2.4c
::video:: Powercolour Radeon 9600pro ultra (bravo edition)
::RAM:: 2 x 256mb DDR400

what could be the problem??

You should be fine up to 2.8V on your ram. Some manufactures spec out up to 3.1 but most are at 2.8-2.9. Also make sure you have your PCI/AGP ratio locked and when first attempting to OC set your memory divider to 5:4 ratio till you find the max your CPU will do then you can mess with the ram.

hmm.. just tried reducing the ram clock ration to 1.6 (from 2.0) and brought my fsb to 220, still nothing..

in regards to AGP/PCI/SRC ration.. i don't know if i can lock it. it's only defult which is 66/33/100... then it just increments upwards on all of the settings by one... also my cpu voltage only goes up to 1.7600V.

perhaps this is my agp?
should i up the voltage on that?

just f**ked around for a bit. the only options for agp/pci stuff is a setting called

AGP/PCI/SRC Fixed:

and the only options for this are..

Disabled (33/66/100)
66/33/100
67/34/101
68/35/102
etc
etc

I keep this set at 66/33/100, but wtf is SRC?
I'm starting to think it's a rather shi*ty mobo - does anyone else have experience with a GA-8IPE1000?
