Is it tihe stock instel HS/F? You may be able to hit 550 with the stock, but it may be better to go get the GORB or something else that is relatively cheap. I had a friend who had a GORB and it worked fine @550.
 
You'll probably be fine with the stock fan. I got me an Gorb, but found it too noisy, so I went back to the old heatsink.
 
I had one that I ran @578MHz for about 6 months with just the stock heatsink fan unit. You should be fine unless it takes more than stock voltage to achive it. If it takes 2.2+volts to get there, than you really should get better cooling. Either way make sure you at least use some Radio Shack thermal paste.
