Ok, i have my AM2 system up and running. Now it's time to do some overclocking.

I've got my 4800+ processor running at 10x300 for a 3 gig speed. Prime 95 runs so far for about 3.5 hrs with no problems.

My question has to do with the chipset settings in the bios.

Here are the settings in question:

1. NB to SB HT Frequency. Default is AUTO but you can set it from 200-400
2. CPU <->NB HT speed. Default is AUTO but you can set it at 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, cpu frequency
3. NB-->SB HT Speed. Default is 5 but you can choose 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, NB to SB HT frequency
4. SB-->NB HT speed. Default is 5 but you can choose 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, NB to SB HT frequency.

At my current overclock i'm running the HTT at 1500x2=3000. I know it's supposed to be kept arount 2000 total, so it's very overclocked, but stable.

As long as i'm stable should i just keep the above settings at the stock settings (auto, auto, 5, 5), or is it better to just lower them to 4x just to be safe?

Also the first setting: NB to SB HT Frequency, what do i set that to beside Auto. I assume that default is actually 200, but should it just be left on auto.

Last question: Am i overclocking the devices on my system with this overclock. I know in the past with other systems i had to lock the agp bus at 66.6 and the PCI bus at 33.3 but on this motherboard i don't see settings for the PCI bus, but PCIEX16 clock which by default is AUTO but can go from 100-200. Should this just be left on AUTO? Would my SATA bus, USB bus, firewirebus be overclocked with any of this?

Thanks.

buddy... you need to keep your HT at 1000. Lower the multipliers so that all HT links are working at around 1000. If you go slightly over that, its no problem, but not 1500... your gonna get massive instability. I am assuming you should be able to go up to 1250 without any problems (considering nVidias Linkboost is 25%, you should be able to do 1250 stable).

No you do not have to worry about pci-e and sata, just leave everything on auto. Btw thanks for your help on the AMD live thing on the other thread you made, that PCI device was driving me nutz.

Believe it or not the system is stable at HTT of 1500 but i lowered it down just in case.

Thanks for the info on the pcie and sata.
