Hi, I saw this thread:
overclockerz.com thread
and it looked like there were a lot of opinions about these guys last month.
I placed an order for some arctic silver, ram heat sinks and a blue orb back on 12/21/00
On 12/23 I emailed and asked them if they got my order.
On 12/26 I called (had to leave message) and emailed asking them what's up.
On 12/27 I called (had to leave message) and asked them to add something to the order if they had not processed it yet.
On 12/29 I got an email (!!!!) from them telling me they would add the item I requested and that they would be shipping Airborn or Fedex and confirming my ship addr.
Today it's 01/01/01 and there's no shipping etc... so I am just hoping that my stuff maybe gets here by the end of the week? This is by far the slowest company I've dealt with online in terms of communicating with their customers, and it's nearing the record for actually processing my order. That being said I will likely forgive them if my stuff gets here by the end of the week, it has after all been 'the holidays'.
I'm interested to hear if my experiences are isolated, or if anyone knows anything about why these guys are doing things this way?

I have ordered two overclocked T-Birds from this store and both have worked as advertised. The first time I ordered I had to threaten them to get my order shipped (took two weeks). Next order (two months later) I received the next day with no additional charges. They have also been helpful with the setup of my system even though I did not by the motherboard from them. Many people on this board have reported major problems with this store, but from my experience, I got a great product at a fair price. Hope it works out for you.

Hey Sam, I believe you bought something from me as well, didn't you? Memory gets short sometimes, but wasn't it a C2 @ 1GHz? :)

Yeah,
I just ordered some PC-150 CAS 2-2-2 memory from them on the 20th of December. The status on the webpage was always "Accepted". The order never shipped, I called and left message, then emailed them. I got an email back stating that the memory was on back-order (thanks for letting me know!) and would ship the next day on December 28th. I replied back stating that in "Good Faith" they should upgrade shipping to Next-Day. Later on Thursday I received a tracking # for airborne express next-day.

Now, I have installed the ram and it comes up as Cas3 up to PC133 in Sandra!!! I have to call/email and complain. When I try to run in Cas2 with 4way Interleave, it locks up :|

I just got a call from them tonight!
I had sent an email today asking them what was up and telling them that if the order had not yet shipped then they could call me and I would add an item to the order.
So they just called and I added the Alpha PAL 6035 HSF. Hey an Alpha for $19.95 - who could resist.
Now I just have to see what I need to do to modify it to work on my P3 700e that Compuwiz1 is sending out today (Thanks be to Steve).
The guy from Overclockerz said the order will ship out tomorrow.

Sandra is wrong.. I'll bet its the 128 mg pc150 cas 222 kingmax ram your talking about

It runs at 150 222 no problems.. actually faster!

WOOPS.. didn't read that part that says it locks up

I am using a kt-7 raid. fsb 110. memory buss 110+pci clock(36).. then throw in turbo mode, and the 4 way interweave.

works great.. ( its the pc150 kingmax cas 222)
I didn't buy it there but it does come up as 133c222 in sandra

I complained in an Email and they haven't responded. I am going to give them a VERY negative ResellerRating and probably send it back and get the KingMax.

How surprising, yet another junior member with no email/profile defending the ocz/game/pctoyz store.

NOW I AM REALLY GETTING PISSED!!!! LISTEN TO THIS CRAP:

<< Dear Sir,
No memory will run at 133 FSB on an AMD motherboard... the AMD uses a DDR front side bus (FSB) which makes any amount of FSB double to that of the CPU. IF you are lucky you might be able to get 110FSB. You overclock by the multiplier on an AMD not the FSB like an Intel

Thank You,

Matt

Is he Kidding me????? What type of Professional company makes a statement like this????
My Response:

<< Matt,
Thanks for your response, but it seems like you need to do some more studying on the AMD architecture, and you did NOT answer my question. The KT133 and KX133 chipset allows you to run the memory ASYNCHRONOUS to the FSB. That means that the FSB can be 100mhz (200mhz Effective DDR) and the Memory can be run at either 66, 100 or 133mhz. Now, If I run the Memory at 133mhz and bump the FSB by 10 to 110, the Memory will in effect run at 143mhz.

My problem with your memory is that it comes up at PC133 CAS3 in Sandra testing, and WILL NOT run at Cas2 w/ 4 way Interleaving. At this point I would like to RETURN my memory because it does not perform as advertised and it is wasting my time.

Michael Amisano

The memory slot may have soemthing to do with it....
You cannot run the memory @ 66mhz *AFAIK*........
But if they say the ram does run at that speed and it doesnt, well, you should get yoru $$$ back IMO

My old KA7 would run at HClock and +/- 33. I switched from Slot1 to Slot3 with no change....still locks up when trying to go to CAS 222 at PC133 w/4 way interleave. :|

Everyone knows their service sucks, tip: Use a credit card with buyers protection online. You won't regret it :)

i had a similar experience on peepz that didn't ship items on time.

1. My credit card company sent me to "Merchant Resolution Department".

2. They called them up and made them immediately refund my money.

3. The credit card company reversed all finance (miniscule but it was the point) on that charge during the couple of weeks it was being held.

Actually that was capitalone, and that card doesn't even have buyers protection if i remember right. nice folks.

I got an email reply tonight saying my order has shipped!
Like I mentioned above, with the long delay I had the chance to think of a couple more items I wanted and told them to add to the order so that might be partially my bad for interrupting their process ;)
Anyway, I checked and my order status changed and there was an airborn tracking number that actually worked - Airborn says they took the order from the shipper and it's on it's way here!
Now we will see if they get it right.

Well, I've ordered from them before and haven't had any problems. I ordered a 128 meg DIMM about 2 months ago, and a 256 meg DIMM a few weeks ago. I don't remember any delays on the 128 meg DIMM, but the 256 megger shipped about 5 days from when I placed the order(Friday night around 11PM). I'm not saying that they are the latest and greatest in online retail, just that I haven't had any problems.

edit: mamisano That sucks that you're having all those problems with your 256 meg DIMM. I posted in a thread of yours about your memory locking up that I got a CAS2 DIMM by mistake that so far will do 143 at 2-2-2 with 4-way interleave enabled. :( Hopefully you'll be able to get them to correct the situation.

another edit: Someone needs to start a thread sometime about reputable resellers that they've dealt with. By far, the best I've encountered so far is millisec and 2cooltek. mwave and ucdweb have also been good to me.
