Check out the following link for information on an overclockers bios which was made available to the guys that run this site:

Hope this is useful to all you guys who got this board before its scheduled release date! 😀

Thanks Mattster. I haven't fired up my new board yet, but I have a feeling I may need that. 🙂

Sweet to be able to do that in BIOS rather than closing all the L7 bridges which makes any Socket A CPU (on any Mobo) default to 1.85V. The Pro 2 just keeps getting sweeter. Thanks for the info Mattster

Chuck (Wolfman35), I just got 5 Duron 700s, but they ain't unlocked. 🙁 Guess I need to do the ol loctite trick. I cant tell where the cores are from. With my eyes 3 look purple and the other two look greenish silver.

Steve, I'm getting pretty good with Loctite and a Magnifying glass. I finally broke down and made a 5 slot stencil for applying it (fits all the bridges L1 - L7 ect). My experience has been to close all the L7 bridges (in addition to the L1) which makes voltage default to 1.85V and adjust Down from there. I was using the brush included with the Loctite kit after trimming it down to about 5-6 bristles, but the stencil deal works much better. I tape the stencil (made from clear plastic from a PIII CPU container) down with scotch tape and it works great. Clean the stencil in acetone after use. This saves time if you're doing ALOT of CPU's as I'm sure you will be.

In my limited experience .... The colors of Durons do seem to vary and I believe this is due to the thickness of the coating. I think AMD intends for all of them to be green. Duron color has very little to do with it's ability to OC. Thats all in the Wafer just like Intel's chips.

The 850 T-Bird I have running at 1200 is a Green CPU from week 34. I have a Blue 1000 that won't run past 1150 on either the KT7 or the K7T Pro 2 so I'm not convinced that the "Bluebirds" are all that special. Just my observations .... YMMV.

NO problemo guys! 😀 Since going to work lately involves surfing probably about 75% of my day, since we have no real work to do lately hehehehehe

I wish I would have waited for this board, but oh well :Q I don't do much in the way of overclocking. First real attempt will be with a K6-III+ on an Epox MVP3G5, cooled with an FOP32-1. Hopefully I will have some decent luck with that.......

Mattster, i have this problem of not being able to go past the 1.7 voltage right now and i was about to take my heatsink off and do the L7 bridges but now that i saw that page i'm really happy that i dont have to do that anymore cuz putting the heatsink on was a Biotch.. but that little disclaimer is scaring the %$#@ out of me right now.. it said something about harmful to mobo and and all devices attached to it?? does that mean the vid cards and other cards as well??? i thought that only happeens when you are raising the Bus speed? is this tru? i thought i was only gonna change the voltage to the duron only...?

Just wondering if there has been complaints about this motherboard. I'm thinking about getting the MOB with a 800 Duron. Not sure if I will OC or not.

I have 2 sticks of PC133 128MB Mushkin memory cas3 $79 dollars right now, with all the potential problems with AMD and memory should I have any problems.
Thankyou for your time

question. I see on the Tiwain site the disciption for the Pro2 and Pro2A said 6 PCI slots one may be shared with ISA ? So can I use my old ISA S/B card on this board. normally the only sound I hear is BONK error.
thanks
