My graphics card still works only when i go to overclock it both values are set to 0mhz. i overclocked it earlier and it crashed. Could it be possible that my graphics card still works but the overclocking ability has been disabled somehow?? is there another way to overclock it?

I probably can't answer your question, but for others you need to at least say what kind of card you have and what software you used to overclock it. It would also help to know how much you were overclocking your card when it crashed.

im not being funny mate but stop overclocking and get some info on what you are doing, its no good asking questions after you have cooked your graphics card.

(im not implying you aready have cooked it im just saying get some help before you do)

Also fill out your specs so we can see what system your running.

Lol, no I would have to agree with you, I'm just a compulsive person when it comes to trying to get the most out of something. I have a core2 duo 6750@2.67ghz, 3gigs xms2 corsair pc2-6400 1.9V 5-5-5-15, 600watt supply, asus 650i mobo, and a sparkle 8600gt 512mb ddr2...i wasn't too pleased with the card in the first place, i wasn't aware it was ddr2 when cyberpower sent it to me. I tried to overclock the core bus about 40 and the memory bus about 30. Like i said, it still works, just shows a 0 for the mhz of the mem and core

40 MHz didn't kill your card, I'm pretty sure of that. Probably some setting was toggled, but there's no way I could tell you which one.

If you want more graphics horsepower overclocking is not your answer. How much do you game and what resolution do you play at?

If you aren't happy with the card, i think you should cut your losses, sell it on eBay, and get an 8800gt for ~ $250 when they come back in stock. That is easily the best buy in the video card market right now. If that's too much, we could find something for less as well.
