Overclocked my Monitor from 60Hz to 75Hz. Doesn't look as smooth now...

I don't know why, but when I overclocked my monitor from 60Hz to 75Hz, the images look really jittery. When I moved back to 60Hz, the screen moved like butter! For example, playing SF5, it actually looked really choppy compared to 60Hz!

Anyone experience that? What am I doing wrong?

Just because a monitor says it is hitting 75hz, doesn't mean it is able to deliver those frames properly. You monitor may just not handle 75hz without dropped frames.

I've tried that on my Dell 3011 with several different video cards. It always goes super jittery above 60hz. I've simply concluded that its not capable of showing it, or receiving the signal properly.

I have an EVGA gtx 1080 SC with a 34" 21:9

Cramps report a solid 75 fps during nfs, and 60 fps at sf5.

The monitor is dropping frames, not the GPU.

Some monitors if you feed them a 75 Hz signal will display at 75 Hz. Others will drop 15 of those frames per second and show 60 frames from the 75 Hz signal.

yeah... i'll just put it back to 60hz. 60 fps still smooth like butter to me!

Your monitor may be blanking the extra fps in order to display them. Plus 75hz is not a multiplier of 30, therefore is likely to look jittery with video playback

I tried overclocking my monitor, then when I did the Frame Skipping Check test results were that my FPS went up however the refresh rate stayed the same.
