Overclocked my 6800 and GPU temps went down?

I have the passive-cooled Gigabyte 6800 (GV-N68128DH). It comes with V-Tuner 2 software to monitor the temps and control software overclocking. The default speed is 325/700 and I got 3Dmark05 scores of 3440 with the idle temp at 57C and not going higher then 62C. I overclocked it to 350/770 and I get 3DMarkof 3900 now with no problems, but upon doing so the temps dropped to 45C idle and 52C max. That doesn't make sense. Is there something wrong with the temp sensor and I'm gonna fry my card? I touched the heatsinks and it didn't seem hot at all (the heatpipes were kinda hotter though) in either scenario.

That's a known driver issue, it makes a bad reading. Newest versions fix it.

No, I left them as they were. Should I raise them? I really wasn't planning on going much higher since this is a passive cooled card. I was more curious than anything.

Is that the Nvidia driver you're referring to? I have the 71.89 drivers already. I'll check for the V-tuner update.

Thanks guys
