Just curious what some of you are seeing when overclocking the 2.4c..

I've got mine running very stable at 3.0ghz.

After maxing the cpu out for about 20 minutes recompressing some video, the temps are hovering
around 54C/130F. I'm using the default heatsink/fan that comes with the intel boxed processor.

Any ideas if this is a descent range, or am I asking for troube.

Thanks!

I have suggested previously to use a 4:5 multiplier on those abit temps to achieve a more realistic appraisal your actual temps. From my own tests, it seems pretty darn accurate.

Looks decent for stock as stated...I would think of better cooling if you get up into the 60's and you are not running a ABIT mobo....Some of the other boards actually underreport. What is your board????

Recompressing video just isn't going to cut it for ramping up temps....I suggest cpuburn, prime95, divx encoding for a few HOURS, etc for real test of load temps.....20minutes wont tell much...I bet you are likely 3-4c higher then that....

Like I said stay below 60 if not on an abit mobo and you should avoid issues.....

Now i'm seeing my temps as overclocked to 3.0

prime95 has been on for like 15 min and the highest it went to was 70, my room temp is 80F.....hopefully this is safe, that Abit rep did say procs can go up to 135 safely....hehe
