totally off topic but its my first off topic post.. i've been checking out everyone's "RIG" and most of the peeps with an amd cpu don't oc. what the hell are you thinking? an athlon or a duron in almost any mobo will accept at least a little overclocking without worrying about heat. its surprising how many people don't even know what mobo they are using. people, this is your time. amd is giving you an easy 1000ghz for the price of 800mhz! overclock. this is a hot deal cause i see so many people's rigs not used to their full potential. no reason this should be locked cause it is a hot deal. OVERCLOCK. by the time any damage is done, you will have sold the system you are ocing and gotten a better one.
intel cpu's are almost as easily oced. any one who doesn't oc is missing out on the easiest hot deal of all. it takes about 3 minutes to test an oced system. push your memory as far as your mobo will let you. push your cpu as far as you can. this is the cheapest upgrade you will ever see.
i have an abit ka-7-100 with an athlon 750 (slotA) oced to 900. my memory runs fine at 133 cl2. i see peeps with the same board and same cpu who don't oc. why not? its soooooo easy and the performance gains are worth it. got an old AT power supply lying around? rip the fan out and put it in your case to cool it a little. any one who checks these boards and doesn't oc is missing out on the cheapest, baddest hot deal of all.

all those agree, make sure you post your system's settings. prove to these people that overclocking is exactly EASY.

If you know it's off topic, why post it? If it was, as you say, your first off-topic post, make it your last as well. That's what the Off Topic forum is for.
