I Overclocked my athlon 1600+ xp cpu to 1.54ghz (146x10.5) without unlocking the chip. Do you think it will have more potential if I did? I'm a fps guy and FSB will definitely benefit great in games. If you unlock the chip, will it give you more fsb mhz?

if you unlock your chip, you will be able to increase the multiplier for the processor. Unlocking it will have no affect on your FBS speeds.

You could benefit without unlocking it by running the fsb up and the multiplier down. I am running a xp1700+ at 140fsb I lowered my multiplier to equate to the stock speed. As all I have is the POS hsf that came in the box w/cpu. with no side effects all pci cards are workin well.

At 146 FSB you're already pushing your PCI and AGP busses....I'd just keep bumping your FSB until things get unstable and then back off a bit.
