Another worthless newbie question for you - I've been researching and reading about overclocking for about 6 straight hours and I can't figure it out.

I'm trying to overclock my machine and I'm having some trouble with the memory speed.

I have a p4 2.4c w/the MSI Neo2-LS & 1 GB Micron PC3200 -

Everyone keeps talking about the ratio of the memory speed to fsb and how it should be around 4:5 or 1:1, etc....
Can someone translate that for me into BIOS settings? I don't know what I'm supposed to set - What speed is the memory supposed to be at to get 1:1 or 4:5???

I've only been able to get up to 2.8ghz with around 238 FSB and I'm sick and tired of resetting my CMOS.

What settings am I supposed to change on the memory?

Thanks in advance for any help -

The rest of the specs are as follows:
Lite-on 52x24x52x CDR-W
WD Caviar SE 7200rpm 80gb
Antec 400W PS stuck in a cheap case
Radeon 9600 Pro 128mb

This is my first time assembling a computer BTW -

Any explanatory information at all is greatly appreciated - I'm a bit dense

Overclock troubles w/ P4 2.4c & Neo2-LS

Overclock troubles is all you're going to get with that crappy board, consider yourself lucky you even made it to 238fsb.

for running stock that board is ok but if you want to overclock that board is total CRAP,I know because I had that board myself & I too could not overclock worth crap with that board.

I sold it & bought an Asus P4P800 and was able to reach 3.2ghz with EASE.

Go read about this board by searching the motherboard forum,I was not the only one discusted with this board & I am very glad I sold it.

Sell it as fast as you can or try & return it if you just got it,Get yourself an Asus P4P800 or an Abit IS7 and you'll be able to reach 3ghz with ease.
