I recently purchased a Tbird 900mhz w/abit kt7a-raid board and it's the first computer i've ever overclocked. I just received my alpha 6035 hs w/ delta 38cfm fan (jesus nobody was lying about the high pitched whine..might need to change that!) and got to work on setting the multiplier/fsb setting in softmenu. A couple of questions:
My system will not post above 112/?? (forget..30 something..34?) The best I've been able to squeeze out is a 9.5 mult x 112 = 1064. If I change my multiplier to 10 (w/112 fsb) it boots at 9 anyway -- I'll even enter softmenu and it'll still say 10?!?! What is going on there? At 9.5x112 I set the voltage to 1.8 / 3.5 (just a little up from 'stock').
I believe my memory (unknown brand pc133) might be preventing my inability to post above 112..
Using sysoft sandra my computer does the following at 9.5x112:
cpu: 2993 whet, 1468 dhry
mem: 485 alu, 570fpu
multi media cpu: 5968 / 7263
Are these good? They're right there with the P4 256mb example sysoft provides
Anyways I thought I'd be able to get higher than 1064mhz but I'm still fairly happy with the scores (i think they're pretty good..if anyone with a similar setup can validate this i'd appreciate it).
I'm real new to this overclocking stuff but thanks to the extremely intelligent anandtech forum folk I've learned a lot and been able to get this far, any help getting further would be mucho appreciated!
BTW, i connected the L1 bridges w/a pencil..would this possibly affect my inability to go faster?
