I have been reading alot of the threads in this forum for awhile and wonder about oc. my system for games. I am new to this process. I have a CUBX mb.,PIII 800, 128mgs of PC100 ram and the Diamond V770 TNT2 ultra video card. Would I see any benefits and what would they be ? Front side bus is 100. Thank you for any help.

You may only be able to oc a small amount. I got my p3 750 up to 930 but the current cb0 cores seem to have troubles above 1 gig. And many never reach it. Several things you must consider here since you have a bx board you will also oc the agp and pci bus as well. On my Soyo at 124 mHz fsb I have the option of oc the pci or underclock it. On my network the uc option is mandated. Many new vid cards can stand a good amount of agp oc. Memory becomes important here I use mushkin 133 cas2 rev1. It has not let me down.
Finally there heat although many people get good results with stock hsf I have an alpha 3125 and artic silver paste. Many people will get higher than my 930 with much less. But be prepared to maximize your chance for success with quality components. IMHO look for low to mid 900's with good equipment. But there is always the chance that you get luky and get the gig core everyone hopes for. As far as results looked for improved frame rates and playability, but it may be unnoticable because of a couple of drawbacks. PC100 is the greatest handicap (especially if it is already running at cas 3.) And your vid card will be somewhat of a handicap at higher resolutions because of lower memory bandwidth. In all probability I see little to no percieved increase in performance. But the frame rates should jump moderately higher.
