overclock help for a beginner....

anyone want to link me over to a good page, or spend some time telling me here, explaining everything about overclocking the processor... i get confused by voltage, voltage locks, frequency, clock speed, multipliers, etc etc...
i really want to kno, well, everything about it.... like, how can you overclock w/o endangering drives you have on the SATA? wut are the different, if there are even more than one, ways to overclock?
so if any of you have some weath of knowledge, or know of one somewhere, please let mw know...

I wouldn't overclock it at all until you know exactly what you are doing, noobs (no offense) are very good at frying processors in thier first few attempts at OC'ing. Study first then when you feel comfortable with all the settings and the math behind it then OC your procs guts out.
