I don't want to spend money in artic xxxx to overclock my old gf2mx and I have found something called metalCeys (www.grupo-ceys.com). It's "synthetic metal". It has two tubes. One with the glue (resin) and the other with some metal powde (obviously, you have to mix both). It says that supports temperatures from -50ºC to +150ºC.

Is this product suitable to paste the heatsinks to the memory?

Anyway, it's secure to use it?

I'm sure it'll be fine.

Out of interest, how much cheaper was this than Artic silver 3 Epoxy?

Well...if u look around the At forum here...the best (widely used) thermal compound is the Artic Silver 2 or 3. The superiority in thermal transfer is in no doubt. A tube can be used many many times (20 & above at least). So, even if you only use it this time...it could be another time tht u need it on other components...it is no waste.

If u r O/Cer...I think tht u'll end up buying a tube of ASII in the future...when u wanna slap those goo on a components generating more heat. Don't save $$ on thermal compound. It's an important stuff in O/Cing.

But then again, the GF2 core isn't gonna be generating extreme heat from O/cing...tht's why I said u'll be fine w/ the generic goo u hv now.

I DONT THINK IT`S A GOOD IDEA TOO USE THAT THERMAL PASTE

IT CAN STICK ON BUT TOO MUCH OVERCLOCKING WILL PRODUCE TOO MUCH HEAT AND IT WILL MELT FOR SURE

I HAVE GOT THE SAME CARD CHAINTECH GEFORCE2 MX400.IT DIDN`T GO TO 230MHZ WITH THE COOLER THEY PROVIDED SO I USED A PENTIUM 1 COOLER(GOT IT FREE FROM MY FREIND) AND STICK IT TO THE CARD WITH (ELFY WWW.ELFY.COM) NOW I CAN OVER CLOCK THE CARD TO 250 MHZ  :p

AND GET 4000+ MARKS IN 3DMARK 2001 SE (THATS A HURAAH) WITH MY P3 1.2 GHZ+INTEL 815EEA2

ELFY IS A WHITE STICKY FLUID WHICH STICKS IN 2 MINUTES AND UR CARD IS READY TOO USE.

IF U WANT IT I CAN SEND U JUST SEND ME A MAIL AT SHAH4U@ARABIA.COM

IT CAN STICK SOME OTHER THING TOO.........

eg:STICKING UR PROCESSOR WITH UR MAINBOARD

I don't think it will melt, the package sais it supports temperatures from -50ºC to +150ºC (-58F, +302F)

Exactly, what elfy product did you use? (to compare)

4000+!!! I get 2700 w/o overclocking and with a 1.3 Tbird ..
