Well my computer has not been 100 % stable, and finding out the culprit has been a week long process. I've found out that with the Audigy 2 installed in any PCI slot my system is just unstable when overclocked. Only at near default speeds is it stable. This is really a bummer since I like the sound quality and performance in games that the audigy 2 provides. What really baffles me is that I have the PCI locked in spec, so it shouldn't be causing instability since its not technically being overclocked. I'm exhausted, tired, and fed up with this card and am about to chuck it unless someone can provide me with some usefull information.

Here are my system specs.
WINXP (SP1)
Abit IT7MAX original (latest bios)
512 ram
GF4 ti 4200 (44.67 drivers)
2.4 GHZ P4 OC'd to 3 GHZ
SB LIVE AUDIGY 2 (latest drivers on website)

Do you have the latest Audigy drivers? I also have an Audigy 2 and on both my previous rig and my 2 week old custom built P4 3ghz rig the Audigy card would sometimes cause system lockups this was without any overclocking
once I installed the new drivers no more lockups or any other problems.

Hmm, Audigy 2 OEM here on an IC7 oc'd, no problems. One thing you can try is to make sure there are no shared IRQs with your sound card with other hardware devices.

well I think i'm gonna give this one more go. I will put in my audigy card after windows is installed and see if that makes a difference. I'm gonna put it in slot 2 where it has its own IRQ and i've already been using the latest drivers.

well, i dunno what i did but everything seems OK. I took out my video card, and reapplied some thermal goop and attached the heatsink. Moved my ram stick to the second slot. And installed my audigy 2 after windows had installed. Everything seems good now. I'll keep ya posted.
