everyone hates Congress but love their representatives. 95% - 98% gets reelected due to bringing back the pork.

I know its a weird situation... the pork dealio is looked at as one of the worst aspects of Congress nationally but favored for the individual Senator and Congressman by their constituents

Not only is Congress a threat to the well being of America but it is indeed without a doubt actually an extreme detriment to the well being of America. Notice how I didn't use the word: U.S., which literally means 'united governments.' Taken literally, I do not believe that Congress is a threat to the united governments of America. In fact, it is their main benefactor.

What do you guys think about term limits? I favor the idea upon a cursory look because it would take away the motivation that corrupts many legislators; desire to hold power. I would favor something like a 2-term limit for both Houses

I think we need to focus more on the idiot that leads congress. I am thinking that we need to fire the person at the top first and then work are way down. Yes it has been this way for a very long time. But it's only gotten this bad since they voted the tard in twice. Now look where we are?

You actually think the president leads congress? I guess that this is further proof that our school system SUCKS and why our country is doomed. Please, get a clue before posting crap like that.

if we got rid of term limits than the power would stay with the congressional staff and lobbyists

So then, start with Frist and Hastert, then drop them in their tracks as the Majority Party tries to replace them with designated shills ?

GOP is taking gas in this poll, They lead both Chambers of Congress, The Executive as well.
Their power grab went to their heads, and they lost their credibility in their rush to have it all.

I support a two term limit for Reps and a one term limit for the Senate.

I like the congress more when they say things like this:

"I don't know how anyone can say with a straight face that when we voted to cut spending last week to help deficit reduction we can now then turn around two weeks later to provide tax cuts that exceed the reductions we just made in spending," said Senator George V. Voinovich, Republican of Ohio, who this week pledged to oppose tax cuts.

There is still hope (in an election year) for America.

Yes, corruption in congress is nothing new.

Newt Gingrich got his Republican majority in the house out of voter disgust at the corruption of the Democrats. Their graft and stupidity lost them the senate, and finally their bumbling lack of leadership cost them the presidency.

If the Democrats regain control of any of the 3 soon it will be from backlash against Republican failures and corruption, not from brilliance and leadership by the Dems.
