Currently I have been doing atleast 60minutes of cardio workout for five days a week. I want to add a daily dose of weights workout for another 30minutes. My purpose for my work out is for cardio and weight lose. I have a hard time figuring out what kind of weights and the combination of weights excerise that would help for weight lose. Any kind of recommendation would be a big help.

Edit: My current diet is currently contains very to no carbs, mainly vegetables and chicken. I have cut down my calorie consumption. I consume 4 times a day small portions, drink atleast 1 gallon of water per day.

** I can changed my diet and excercise program. I am not set in my ways.

That's about 1/2 to 1/3 the battle. Any plans on changing your diet?

in addition to the suggestions you may get in this thread, you should also check out www.geekfitness.com, a forum which is run by several respected members of the AnandTech community. :)

That much cardio isn't going to help without weights and a better diet.

this sounds like its pretty important t oyou so why dont you shell out the 100-150 bucks for a full personal evaluation and weight training program from a professional traininer?

you wouldnt come here advice if you needed an important surgery you would seek a professional.

I am only suggesting this because no body here to my knowledge is a personal trainer. And even if they were they dont have you in front of them to take measurements and such to make a specific recommendation for you. You want results fast I am sure. The best way that I know from esxperience is to hav ea workout program tailored to your needs by a pro.

60 minutes cardio means squat...

I've seen people walk on treadmill for 60 mintes and consider that Cardio...
If you want to lose weight, you have to push yourself..
run 20 minutes as fast as you can non-stop and I bet you will lose more weight and save time..
