Reno has it at 3.5.....I think that is a really good number for the house. Early rumors were leaning towards a 2.5 opening due to Walmart's limited rain-check policy, but it appears the books still have little faith in the average US consumer.

I'm getting a real vibe of stupidity this year from the general public, so I'm taking the over personally. Good luck!

The fact we're even having this discussion semi-seriously says a lot about what western culture has become.

I think it will eventually be synonymous with the culture, bringing in millions in tourist dollars annually.

Think about it....how many people in Pamplona actually get caught in the wrong Spanish ally, and need to run for their life to avoid being gored? Probably not very many.

Foreign daredevils flashing Euros don't need to wait in line for days for lukewarm off-brand TV deals either, but the rush combined with the fear of death when the moment finally comes has to be fairly similar to the bull run.

I'm really thinking about going out tomorrow.

What's the over/under on how many spare magazines I bring with me?

I think it speaks highly of the US that there are so few deaths. If the rest of the world had our BF deals, the casualty would be lot higher. People are far crazier about shopping in Asia.

How would the over under be any different if it was 3.2 or 3.8? The deaths would be a whole number.

Part of me wants to agree with you, but the majority of me lacks all sympathy for these cases, so I just laugh.

You know, you are right about that. BF is basically the only time we don't obey the queue. I think our lack of experience with panicked mobs in daily life somehow keeps us safer.

:hmm:

Only 4 people have died during black friday in the past 7 years and only 2 of those were from trampling, so I don't think this year will be above 3.5.

Word is leaking out from a FootLocker in Boca Raton, FL....they may be releasing a Special Edition Jordan shoe for 2 hours only...which may push the number even higher.

I am really hoping for the over. Black Friday Walmart videos are what makes the Thanksgiving holiday the funniest holiday.

I think that $229 50" 1080p TV at Target by itself will be the cause of at least 2 people getting trampled or shot in the parking lot.

How about we go all Hunger Games? Winner in a fight to the death gets half priced DVD players.

Black Friday sales seemed weak this year, so I was tempted to take the under. But people are such huge assholes that I had to take the over. Somebody is going to get stomped by a crazed shopper trying to save 7 cents on a Justin Bieber CD. That one extra death will be enough to cover.

Yea..really nothing special. Menards is the only I would go to and I would only save maybe $100 so its not worth it.

I'm looking for high end computer upgrades and there aren't really any hot deals on that stuff. Hopefully amazon sends me some super deals tomorrow!
