I have had a P4 2.4c o.c'd to 2.7 ghz for past 1 1/2. I finally tried bumping it up some more (235 fsb vs 225 fsb) when system refused to boot. Backed it down to 225 and raid 0 now corrupted. I tried clearing the cmos and raid is still corrupted. I gave up, reformatted and tried a clean install. But, the install keeps giving me an error message 3/4 of the way thru (Error Code=0x80040206) stating "sub-component COM + raised an exception while processing the OC_COMPLETE_INSTALLATION", which is followed by a crash. I have tried install in a raid 0 setup and without. Any help is appreciated!

P4 2.4c
Abit Ic7
512 mb HyperX (2 x 256)
(2) Seagate sata 7200 rpm
Thermaltake 480w
9700 all-in-wonder pro

Thanks for your quick reply. I am already back to stock speed. I am not sure how to flash the bios without an operating system installed.

You will need another computer. Go to Abit's site and download the lastest bois and flash utility. They should have instructions on the site. You will basically put the bios file and a flash utility on a bootable floppy and flash it from DOS.

I will take your advise and try the flash tonight. Hopefully a corrupt bios is the answer.

OK Yossairian, you must be a technical guru. The bios flash worked and the fresh install completed. The only problem now, when I attempt to overclock, even to 201 fsb, the system fails to recognize either HD resulting in a "No Disk" message. When I go back to stock, everything is fine. When I did the fresh install, I didn't use the raid driver floppy (on purpose). However, the install wouldn't comlete until I changed the bios sata setting to "auto". The bios is now indicating I again have a raid setup. Will this Ic7 not let me have 2 sata HD's without raid? And how can I have a raid setup without drivers installed? I was thinking the raid setup might have been holding back a better overclock. Thanks again.
