Over 80 Cause Death

So was browsing through the police media releases and came across this

On Thursday January 20 2009 at 4:00pm police and emergency services attended the scene of a pedestrian collision on Baseline Road at Costswold Gate. As a result of the investigation it was determined that the pedestrian was crossing Baseline Road from the north to the south when a westbound vehicle struck her. The female driver of the vehicle momentarily stopped then fled the scene striking another car a short distance away. The elderly female pedestrian died in hospital as a result of her injuries. Approximately 30 minutes after the collision, while police continued their investigation, the female driver returned to the scene. During the investigation she was arrested for an impaired driving offence, taken into custody and charged with the criminal offences of "over 80 cause death", "fail to remain at a fatal collision" and asecond "fail to remain at a collision". 30 year old Karine Tremblay of London.

So, is that worse or better than an under 80 cause death

I almost wish laws would be adjusted a bit. I mean is it really the same crime when you kill a 99 year old compared to a 20 year old? I think not. If you think of murder in terms of years stolen obviously the amount is much less in the latter case.

I think it means that she killed someone over 80 years old? No way was she going 80 mph, she hit an old lady who died in the hospital. 80 MPH would kill them on the scene!
