Man, once you pass 30, they ALL have kids...not only that, but they have like, 2 or 3 kids...all almost teens. :( Nothing's easy, man!

That's fine with me.

Hell, I'm only 22 and I think about this a lot. It's probably mostly because I was engaged until a couple months ago, and then that just fell apart. I'll probably keep thinking about at least until I meet someone new.

I didn't get married until I was 35. I had many relationships but none that just knocked my socks off, and I was determined not to marry unless I felt that way, even if it meant that I never get married. In fact, I often thought that I would end my days as a bachelor.

One day, I finally met the girl that did knock my socks off and a whole lot more. It didn't take me long to decide I wanted to marry her and it's been up and down since then, but I knew it would not be a picture perfect marriage since I'm a difficult person and any person I could respect would be difficult as well (translated as independent in their thinking). After about the first 4 years of a stormy marriage and getting all of our single ways out of our systems, we've managed to become a pretty good married couple and have been married now for almost 9 years.

I don't really have any advice except marry the girl that knocks your socks off. If it doesn't happen, then you're probably better off single; I know I would be. Marriage is difficult enough and I couldn't imagine being married to someone that I didn't have really exceptional feelings for.

To me, a woman over 30 who's never been married or doesn't have kids would seem, superficially, to be selfish or have some high E & I factor that kept her from having a serious relationship or marriage. I'd prefer a single mom.

You did get the memo that it's not the 1800 anymore?

Maybe they haven't met the right person?

I'm single and in my 30's. I don't plan to get married unless I meet someone that I feel I can be compatible with. Yeah I think about my past relationships once in awhile but I certainly don't spend my time trying to figure out why things didn't work out. If it was not meant to be then it was not meant to be. Better to move forward then live in the past.

And just why haven't they met the right person? Because their standards are set exceedingly high.

And it's not some masochistic view of women. It's based on life experiences and what I see/hear from others.

I can think of woman in particular right now.

:)

Yep, I'm setting exceedingly high standards now. After dealing with a diagnosed pyscho ex - I've learned that being alone and happy is better than living with the turmoil of a sub-par individual. That may sound cruel - but after dealing with mental illness up close and personal for 16 years - all the compassion I had for dealing with that situation and individual is gone. Long gone.

So it's a risk I take that I might never meet the "right" person, and I'm okay with that...

I am in my early 30s, decent job with decent pay/benefits. In good health/shape, attracitve, and financial stable (zero debts). Why I still single then? I was too busy with my career and grad school in my 20s. I don't see any benefits of getting marry as of right now. Sure, if I met a gal that "knock my socks off" then I will. Until then, I will just be single and happy rather being married with children and miserable.

I guess I am too picky and I want to meet my soulmate and I won't settle for anything less. And last but not least, I am a strong believe in "Till Death Do Us Part". Not into marry and divorce. It is not a game.
