Then it isn't much of a commitment is it?
If you break a legal commitment you face legal consequences. Makes perfect sense to me.
How exactly would we get rid of government recognized marriage with adultery laws still on the books?
Please explain the benefit to society if corporal punishment was enforced for adulterers?
Breaking the Marriage contract is where Divorce comes in.
So flogging somewhere around half the population would lead to happier monogamous relationships? Seemed to work real good in Afghanistan.
No my argument is flogging nearly half the population is insanity and relationship issues are between spouses not between spouses, local and state governments.
Don't want the government involved in your relationship then don't demand the government become involved in your relationship.
What a crazy idea that all the super fun benefits that liberals want for married couples might actually come with conditions attached![]()
This is what insanity looks like
What joke. Liberals like to claim that marriage is about commitment, not procreation, when arguing for SSM.
Yet here we have them complaining when the government actually tries to enforce that commitment.
So essentially if marriage isn't about procreation, it isn't about commitment what then is it about?
Seems like its just a circle-jerk to get government benefits.
Then perhaps you shouldn't demand that government get involved in your personal sex life?
Don't want to face charges of adultery then don't get married. Not hard.
