Ordered a video Ipod last Saturday. Got shipping confirm message today. Checked tracking number. It apparently started in Shanghai, and is now in Alaska. I live in Northern Virginia. Does this make no sense to anyone else? I would imagine Apple has a warehouse closer to VA.
 
everyone knows asian people are better at making electronic devices. They have smaller hands which enable them to assemble devices that are too small to be worked on by big american hands.

The factory is located in Shanghai. Its the city of manufactoring.

Customized Products are shipped form there. Apple does have stock warehouses in the US
 
I have no problem with Crapple doing that, since it won't affect me in any fashion. The POS will just become cheaper for the box brains that use them. 😉

BTW, most PC components are outsourced anyway.

Back in the early 80's I worked for Keytronic. I helped design and implement automated keyboard assembly systems. Little by little they started outsourcing, way back then. The company no longer manufactures keyboards in the USA, to my knowlege.
