I HATE outsourced customer service especially for computer companies. I can't stand the fact that it is ridiculously hard to understand what they are saying, despite the fact that they speak english. Sometimes its hard to get a solid answer on something. I despise outsourcing and its potential effects on our economy.

HOWEVER, the one thing that I have noticed is that customer service that is outsourced is often more eager to please and will go to longer lengths to help you out. I've had more people bend over backwards to help me with a problem. However, when its someone that is here in the US, they are quicker to get rude or simply give up on the problem.

The key to dealing with tech support in the US is to be well informed and friendly, these traits do not help you if you are dealing with outsourced (domestic and not) techs imo as you will still have to explain it to them 5+ times as they are nice to you and walk you though a flow chart. Where as most in house techs will recognize the problem when you explain it to them and act accordingly.
