Too make a long story short, I have D.R. Horton hooking up to my water bib/faucet outside and continuing to use it. I've caught them red handed several times.

I am sick of dealing with it and wanted to know if any of you guys use the bib locks I see on the net. Are they useful? Which one do you guys use?

do you actually use the outside faucet? take off the knob?

did you complain to the realtor in the model home?

Removing the handle isn't going to help much. They'll either use a pair of pliers...or bring their own handle.

I've never used one of the hose bib locks either, so I can't recommend one over the other, but at a minimum, if you pay for the water on anything but a flat monthly charge, I'd see if you could press charges for "theft of services" or water theft of some kind.
It's not like they'll get hauled to jail or anything, but it MIGHT get the attention of someone in the corporate office who can put a stop to it.

I've seen it happen most of my life though, especially when building houses in a subdivision. Once a house is complete and the water turned on, it becomes the water source for many of the contractors...for all kinds of assorted uses.

BTW, the next time, use an ice-pick to poke thousands of holes in their hose...:p

First are you in the house yet or is it still being built? Are you paying the water bill?
