Output to TV

Would it work to connect my second DVI output to my DVI input on my television and use it for previewing my video editing? I have an x1950xtx. My TV owner's manual says the DVI input is not compatible with the picture signal of a PC. It's three years old. Was that then and things are different now??

...probably it will work just fine if you set it to output to 480i/480p/720p/1080i (ie, a "tv" resolution, not a "computer" resolution). Most likely the hardware in the TV isn't as slick as a computer monitor and is unable to deal with other resolutions properly.

Any reason to suspect I could damage one or the other?

Really, really, really unlikely.

You should probably turn off the TV before plugging in the DVI, though. It probably won't hurt it, but it may not work right if you try to hot-plug it.
