Pros - It's the MT version of the CPU (better power consumption/managament).

Cons - Probably a 4200RPM hard drive and low capacity 4-cell battery. Integrated graphics of course.

Bump up the RAM, to say 1GB and it's a nice little portable.

I say good deal!

Ive seen these GQ laptops in store at Fry's and they look very poorly built...even worse than a Dell. I'd wait for a deal on an entry level Dell Inspiron and pass on this.

Price is HOT with no rebate and free shipping. Never heard of GQ though. I would like to see this in person before jumping on this. Anyone own one that can comment on the build quality?

I am pretty sure it is this laptop.

http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWeb/Products/P...il.aspx?detailid=562&MenuID=55&LanID=9

i owned one by ECS back in the P4 1.6GHZ days, there about average laptops, same quality as lowend Dell/Compaq/HP/Toshibas, i have owned over a dozen different laptops, and they are fine, nothing great , but for $400.00 shipped and no rebates, you won't do better, except maybe a price mistake, or Black Friday sale, i would buy one, but i got a ACER latop at CompUSA 2 weeks ago for $400.00 AFTER $250.00 rebate, and it came with a free all-in-one printer, nice laptop bag, and wireless mouse, amd some free software too, so it was a little better than this deal, but required rebates.

one good thing about these is the are basically offered as build to order from a lot of onlibe shops, so ram, hard drive,cd-rom, and so on are fairly easily upgraded and easy to get at, even cd-rom is pretty easy to swap out for a dvd-rw drive.

throw a 512mb or 1gb stick of ram in this and you are good for awhile, maybe upgrade the hard drive to 7200rpm in a few years when it starts to feel slow.

I would think atleast 2 hours, and maybe as high as 3 hours, more likely 2.5 though.
