Anyone familiar with this memory from Outpost.com? 159.99 is a pretty good price for 1GB of DDR2.

DDR2 1GB 4200 DUAL CHANN

There is no Manufacturer or PN# listed. I called outpost and they said their memory buyer was out of the office today. So I called my local Fry's and they said it was LEI brand, with a 90 day warranty. Yikes! Guess it is a good deal if you are confident in LEI products. Any thoughts or experiences with Legacy memory products?

Thanks!

Awesome deal, I've been waiting for something like this since I got my intel retail package. Anyone know anything about LEI memory?

No, you must have a DDR2 compatible motherboard.

DDR = 184 pin = ~2.5v
DDR2 = 240 pin = ~1.8v

Here is a link to the motherboards they have "certified"

Looks like their L506464K20C-37A DDR2 PC4200 512MB DIMM has passed testing on several of the Intel 915/925 motherboards.

I bought some from Fry's for the Retail Edge bundle I bought to upgrade my wife to a new PC when the kit was on sale about a month ago and the RAM has worked fine. When I first got the computer assembled, I ran several passes of Memtest and got no errors and so far I haven't seen any instability with the new PC.

The latency is a bit high (4-4-4), but that is pretty much par for the course for DDR2 right now unless you pay big bucks for some of the new OCZ EB stuff. I haven't tried underclocking the memory to 400MHz (since 533MHz is kind of overkill on a 800MHz FSB processor) and seeing if it would run at 3-3-3, but I'll bet it is possible. Anyone know if you would also benefit any from the underclocking putting the FSB in sync with the memory speed, or would the extra bandwidth you get running stock at 533MHz be more beneficial? I'd test it out myself, but my wife HATES it when I get a bit overzealous trying to tweak her system and wind up running into unexpected issues.
