So and friend and I ordered a couple mobo/cpu combos on fry's outpost.com site. After a couple months they finally sent a box that had the mobos in it. However on the invoice it said the cpu's have been backorder cancelled. So we just paid $200 for a couple of cheap ecs boards?! When did outpost become so unethical??

yes, they since you get charge for the combo, they did not credit us for the cpus, which is the majority of the cost.

Outpost has had a bunch of CPU + mobo deals where the bundle price was the same as newegg's price for just the CPU. So they were not buyng the mobo it was supposed to be free with the CPU.

I'd be ticked but would probably wait to make a judgement after finding out how they handle it and what options they give you. Thats where the men from the boyz get separated among etailors.

I agree, but I'm still pissed they didn't get the deal, and that it took so long to tell us what was going on!

It's actually still a really good deal. I didn't realize that they would only send half of what was ordered!

No, you are retarded. There is nothing wrong with the mobos, it is the idiot who doesn't know what he is doing while setting them up that is the problem.

Update (for those who care):

So I was really upset, but I was super nice on the phone. First it took 20-30 mins for me to get to a csr. She said that she was very sorry and that a manager would call me back. She/he never did. So two days later I call back (and I have to wait a while on hold). This time the lady told me that I could have part of my money refunded or send the mobos back. I was like, well, I feel like outpost.com should do something about this. She said that is all they could do. Then I mentioned that a manager was supposed to call me back, and that no one did. She transferred me to a manager. The manager then asked me what I wanted to do. I said I would take whatever cpu they could give me. Well they were out of amd xp 3000's, but they had this. I was stoked! I don't think they'll work with the mobo's, but I'll figure something out. I mean, I only paid $100 for the mobo/cpu combo, and now they are sending me $175 cpus, and I get the mobo. Sweeeeeeet!

I used to work for a tech support.... I know what it's like to be yelled at. It's kind of stupid, because it isn't your fault!
