hmm, the website shows free shipping, yet it comes up with $8 for ground, 9 for 2 day and 12 for next day? Since I'm in WA, they charge tax on top of it... ??? weird...

That's odd...ground came up free here.

Shipping is..... free.... at least it should be

a lot of people have to pay tax, Fry's has many retail stores nationwide to go along with warehouses and what not - if any of such establishments exist in your state then you're going to be paying tax.

Tax in cali.. sucks, but still better then buying in-store locally at fry's Woodland Hills at $129.99 + tax = $140.71

So $108 and change is pretty good for me :)

No confirmation yet. I had to pay tax, but at first it showed a shipping charge even though I checked off 'ground.' When I looked closer it had me down for 2nd day, then I reset it to ground and the shipping charge went away.

Thanks

Ordered 2 :
subtotal $199.98
tax $14.57
Ground Shipping $8.10
total $222.65

I guess I'll have to call about the $8.10 free shipping!

I'm in Lancaster, CA and I noticed the same problems as you. I just ordered and I will be calling about the shipping charges. Hopefully I can get them to take it off and upgrade me to next day for free for my "troubles" hehe.

If the .10s run hot and you're buying a few of these for a raid5 setup or whatever... you might prefer the .9s that run cooler when put on top of eachother.
- Have any references? I'd love to see a bench showing the .10 runs hotter than the .9.

I own both the .9 and .10 versions. The .9 one I have produces more heat, and is much louder during seek times than the .10. This doesn't mean the the .10 line is better. You can't just look at a select few results. Don't take my example to mean that the .9 is always going to be hotter than the .10, or that the .10 will not be hotter than the .9...

Got on this one just in time.. Ordered one at about 3am last night. The shipping was not free but I called up today and had it removed with no problem. I don't think I've ever gotten a hard drive deal for $.25/gb without a rebate. Thanks OP!
