A computer here at work can't connect out look to the exchange server unless I set it to use "none" as the logon network security. then enter in the username, password, and domain. it works fine then.

if I have it set to use password authentication I get an error message when outlook trys to start about "you do not have permisson to acces that store" or something similar. the exchange server is also our data server and the user can access that fine.
win2k server with exchange server 2k and the clent is XP pro with office xp

any ideas?

What was the secuirty setting when it failed? NT logon? If so, was the user signed on to the domain when they tried to connect? You should only get the permission dialog if the Exchange Server service in Outlook is set up for a different user than the one that is logged on, or you are trying to access it using some authentication other than NT Logon.

the setting was NT logon but i don't have anyone (except my self) in the domain yet because outlook refuses to work at all when some logs on to their domain. this one computer is the only one doing it.
the user had logged on to the workgroup (damn domain name) already, and I tried restting his password.
