Outlook on Laptop and Desktop Question

I have Outlook on both my laptop, 2007, and desktop, 2010. The two computers are networked through a router. My question is how do I get both computers to keep up to date on emails at the same time?

Right now, Outlook on one computer will download emails but not the other one. It is not always predictable on which computer\Outlook will get the emails.

I know that this is probably a noob question that is often asked and answered. I did do a search on this subject and did not see anything in the last year.

Thanks in advance.

In the email settings...

Tools>email accounts>change>more settings>advanced and then set your Delivery option to leave a copy of messages on the server for however long you want. I have mine set at 5 days, that way I can download everything over all my devices.

EDIT: I'm still on Outlook '03, so your access to that might be a little different... but you get the idea.
