Wonder if someone knows what is going on - any help is appreciated:
First - on a machine that has been running Vista with Office XP for 8 months - suddenly it starts openning MS Outlook by itself, and multiplying it - 200 instances opened at once. I 'fixed' it by uninstalling Outlook.
Then - on another hard drive, I formatted it, and installed Windows 7 RC 7100. Without installing anything else, I tried to browse the web and it kept popping up error - Mail Client not properly installed. I couldn't work because the pop-ups stayed there.
I downloaded Windows Live Mail Client on another machine, put it on a USB thumb drive and installed it on the Windows 7 machine. After that the Mail Client kept opening by itself, staying open - would reopen after I close it. I can't work because it keeps the focus.
I tried disabling the network adaptors to make sure the broadband wasn't causing it. Now the mail client opens as soon as I boot up. I don't have to open IE.
Any light you can bring to this would be greatly appreciated. Obviously a hardware problem.
I have a Dell Vostro 200 with Core2Duo.
Thanks
