I use Outlook Express to check my Hotmail and Alltel email accounts.

I was wondering what is a good free email program that I can use instead of OE? Seeing all the problems with OE and Klez, etc... I was just wondering if there is something "better" out there.

there is no perfect email client...

having said that, what are your needs? i can make a recommendation based on that. pine is good, but only under certain circumstances.

as far as my needs just basically to send and recieve email using my Alltel account. Nothing fancy required.

I can use the web based email for hotmail if I have to. I don't think it works in any non-microsoft products.

How about we all bitch at MS to tighten up Outlook? There is no excuse not to have the option to turn off html code in incoming e-mails.

<< What about non-free? >>

non-free is ok.

reason I said free was maybe there was something I could download and try out now.

Guess Im just a little paranoid, but I keep hearing how bad OE is to spread this stuff so I was thinking of trying something else.

I guess I should have been more clear. I too am looking for an alternative, but don't like nutscrape or pine.

Mozilla Mail has been good to me. Oh, and so is Mozilla itself.
