I am on a dial up connection and whenever I open up outlook express to check my mail it disconnects me then tries to connect again. how do i stop this????

check the connection settings within out outlook...should be in tools, options probably. Check what the connection type is, and what the setting is. Im betting you have "always dial a connection" checked, change it to "use any connection". That should at least give you a place to start looking. PM me if you have more questions.

This is as little hardware-related as it gets 😉 Try the Software forum.. And download all the latest patches for Outlook Express. Also, check the settings of the Dialup in Windows NOT to disconnect when the connection is no longer required (they used to have that option).

Go into the account instead of options. choose the e-mail adress you are using and properties. and then go to connection, there you can choose the connection, or none you are using to check that mail.

Some isp don't accept their users to check their mail if the are connected with another isp.
