Outlook express question

I have just completed a reformat and reinstall of Win XP Pro, after saving the folders and messages from outlook express. I am not able to import the files/folders, nor am I able to copy them to the outlook express folder. Outlook express (and outlook, for that matter) do not seem to be able to open these files. Any suggestion to what I can do to read these files? They are .dbx files. Thanks in advance.

If you can't import the files from File->Import->Messages and specify a store directory, then you probably either backed up the wrong files or don't have the correct version of OE.

If the files were somehow damaged, http://www.oehelp.com/DBXtract/Default.aspx might recover them. Thunderbird can also import OE files.

Thank you for the help, both worked...lol. Seems I was not reading the import function correctly. DBXtract is a nice tool. Thanks again.
