I inadvertantly deleted all my folders from C:\WINDOWS\APPLICATION DATA\IDENTITIES\XXXXXXXX\MICROSOFT\OUTLOOK EXPRESS.
I restored them all from the recycle bin, and they seem to be intact (all having the DBX sig) - but the folders headings are gone in the Outlook Express program, and no messages.

I have tried importing, draging and a number of things to no avail.
What can I do to get them back in folders where they belong?

Thanks so much for any and all help.

Try opening OE, then File, Folders, and create New folders for IN, DRAFT, SENT, OUT, etc., etc. Then with those folders created, drag the files into the appropriate folder of your choice.

To really make life simpler, in OE got to Tools, Options, Maintenance and create a new location for your Store Folder that is less layered and easier to manage than the default.
